DOH gives ambulances, buildings for rehab center to Pangasinan towns


MALASIQUI: Two towns in Pangasinan received an ambulance each from the Department of Health (DOH) while the state-funded Dagupan Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DTRC) has opened a one-story warehouse and archive building and an administrative building.

DOH Ilocos Region director Paula Paz Sydiongco, in a statement on Tuesday, said the ambulances for Bayambang and Malasiqui towns are installed with foldable stretcher, nebulizer, portable suction machine, defibrillator, portable suction machine, examining light, aneroid sphygmomanometer, scoop stretcher, stethoscopes, non-contact thermometer, blood-glucose meter with strip, resuscitator for infant, pedia and adult; oxygen therapy set; laryngoscope set; and immobilization devices, delivery set and patient transfer monitor.

‘The emergency vehicles were funded through the Health Facilities Enhancement Program of the DOH. It is part of the DOH’s commitment to Universal Health Care by making quality health care accessible to all,’ she said.

n Binloc, Dagupan City, meanwhile, inaugurated their new buildings on Monday.

Sydiongco said the buildings were funded with a total of PHP11 million through the savings of DTRC.

DTRC chief Rosalina Caoile said the new administrative offices will improve the efficiency of staff and the new warehouse will provide a wider storage for the growing number of files of patients and other pertinent documents.

The center is a 300-bed health facility under DOH, which provides treatment and rehabilitation, outpatient services, preventive education, and aftercare and follow-up services.
