CSC Antique to embark on tree growing for cause

SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) Field Office in Antique is inviting concerned national government agencies, institutions, and all those interested to join the tree growing for a cause activity set on Sept. 19 at Sitio Catwayan, Patnongon.

CSC Antique provincial director Andre Ladigohon said in an interview Friday that they will be embarking on a tree growing for a cause as part of their Pamanang Lingkod Bayani Program intended to provide financial assistance to the families of government employees who died in the line of service.

‘Participants in the mangrove planting activity will have a registration fee of PHP250 each that will go to the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani Program,’ he said.

Ladigohon said the funds raised from the registration fee would be remitted to the CSC Central Office so that it could be granted to the families of eligible government employees.

‘This initiative is not just about planting trees; it’s sowing seeds of compassion for our fellow public servants who have
made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty,’ Ladigohon said.

The activity is in coordination with the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and its provincial government counterpart.

The activity, which has a theme ‘Malasakit sa Kalikasan, Malasakit sa Lingkod Bayani,’ is also in line with the celebration of the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary and the ‘Linggo ng Malasakit.’
