Continuous dangerous rain warning issued for Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous dangerous rainfall warning for Sarawak, lasting till tomorrow.

According to the statement released by MetMalaysia tonight, the warning covers Kuching, Serian and Samarahan.

Also, severe continuous rain is expected to occur in Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah and Bintulu (Tatau and Bintulu) in Sarawak for the same period of time.

In Sabah, continuous rain has been forecast till tomorrow in Sabah, covering the areas of Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat.

Similar weather is forecast from Feb 28 (Tuesday) to March 1 (Wednesday) in the areas of Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim, Perak; Terengganu; Pahang; Selangor; Kuala Lumpur; Negeri Sembilan; Melaka and Johor.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) tweeted tonight that the agency would constantly monitor the technical information parameters via the National Disaster Control Centre (NDCC) with the assistance of other agencies.
