CM Urges Penangites To Strengthen Unity, Elevate State To New Heights

KEPALA BATAS, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow has called on the people to strengthen unity, renew their love for the nation and join forces to elevate Penang and Malaysia to greater heights.

He said the theme for this year’s Malaysia Day and National Day 2024, ‘Malaysia MADANI: Jiwa Merdeka’, underscores patriotism and national pride through various perspectives, including thought, social integration and economic development.

‘This theme is designed to instill MADANI values in every Malaysian and aligns with our goal of building a promising and prosperous future for our beloved country.

‘Malaysia Day reminds us that regardless of our origins, race or religion, we are one family, one spirit, sharing this blessed land,’ Chow said at the state-level Malaysia Day celebrations here today.

Also present were Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak and his wife Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor.

Chow said 61 years ago, a grand vision was realised, and Malaysia not only formed a nation but also became a bea
con of struggle, hope and unity.

‘I take great pride in saying that Penang exemplifies the spirit of Malaysia MADANI that we celebrate today.

‘Much like a garden in full bloom, the diverse community in Penang has thrived together in harmony, supporting one another in the state’s development efforts,’ he said.

Chow said the Penang government is committed to ensuring this prosperity not only endures but continues to grow and benefit the people of the state.
