Cloudy skies, scattered rains expected across PH


MANILA: Cloudy skies and scattered rains are expected throughout the country on Sunday, according to the state weather bureau.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said ‘habagat’ or the southwest monsoon will prevail in Luzon, including Metro Manila, and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan, as well as in Ilocos Region, Western Visayas and the Negros Island Region.

These areas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides might also occur during severe thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds will be experienced in the whole country, with a southeast to southwest direction.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
