Chinese tyre makers urged to engage more Vietnamese firms in supply chain


Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on July 29 urged Chinese tyre maker Sailun Group to strengthen connection with and support Vietnamese enterprises to join its value chain and supply chain to promote sustainable development in Vietnam. The Deputy PM hosted a reception for chairwoman of the group and the Sailun Vietnam Ltd Company Liu Yanhua in Hanoi on July 29. Sailun, one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers, has invested in building a factory to produce all tire lines of the group in the southern province of Tay Ninh, established a research and development (R and D) centre in Ho Chi Minh City a joint venture with Cooper Tires in 2019 with a total investment of about 1.5 billion USD. The group plans to invest an additional 200 million USD in Vietnam in the coming time.
