Celltrion Q2 net profit down 48 pct to 78.5 bln won


Celltrion Inc. on Wednesday reported its second-quarter net profit of 78.5 billion won (US$57.1 million), down 48 percent from a year earlier.

The company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 72.5 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 183 billion won a year ago. Sales rose 66.9 percent to 874.7 billion won.

The earnings exceeded market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts stood at 75 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
