Cabinet Ministers Congratulate Zii Jia, Aaron Chia, Wooi Yik For Honouring Nation At Paris Olympics

PUTRAJAYA, The Cabinet today congratulated national badminton player Lee Zii Jia and national doubles players Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik for their success in bringing glory to the country at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The matter was announced by the Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil who is also the spokesperson of the Unity Government in the Weekly Cabinet press conference, here today.

“They have gallantly won bronze medals. Thank you also to all the athletes who fought and will be fighting for Malaysia.

“We pray that those who will fight and compete will be able to show the best performance, God willing,” he said.

On Monday, Zii Jia claimed Malaysia’s second bronze medal after coming from behind to beat India’s Lakshya Sen 13-21, 21-16, 21-11 in a thrilling 71-minute battle at Porte de La Chapelle Arena.

A day earlier, the pair of Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik gave Malaysia its first medal in Paris 2024 after making a remarkable comeback to overcome the Danish pair, Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Ras
mussen 16-21, 22-20, 21-19 in the bronze medal decider.
