BTS’ Suga questioned for allegedly driving electric scooter under influence

Suga of K-pop supergroup BTS was questioned for allegedly driving an electric scooter under the influence, police said Wednesday.

The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul said they have booked the rapper on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.

The 31-year-old was found lying on the ground alone after falling off his electric scooter under the influence of alcohol on the streets of the Hannam neighborhood in the Yongsan district the night before, they said.

After he fell, a police officer nearby approached to help him and noticed the smell of alcohol. The officer then handed him over to a nearby police station.

Subsequent police breathalyzer tests revealed that Suga’s blood alcohol concentration was at a level warranting license cancellation, which is 0.08 percent or higher, according to the police.

The artist was allowed to return home after completing the police investigation.

Suga has been serving as a social service agent, an alternative form of military service in South Korea, since March. He is s
cheduled to be discharged in June next year.
