KUALA LUMPUR, Bond Pricing Agency Malaysia Sdn Bhd (BPAM) has launched its online, web-based service, the ‘Eko’ platform, designed to support financial institutions and corporations in their sustainability-related regulatory reporting.
In a statement today, BPAM said the platform unifies all essential sustainability metrics and analytical tools for regulatory reporting under Securities Commission Malaysia’s (SC) Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI) Taxonomy and Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) Climate Change and Principle-based Taxonomy (CCPT) Classification into a single, user-friendly interface whilst eliminating the need to consult multiple sources.
‘The Eko platform is an evolved version of the first-generation BPAM CCPT Classification Service, launched in April 2023,’ said the bond pricing agency.
It said the platform also features innovative crowd-sourcing capabilities that capitalise on collective insights to continuously enhance data accuracy and interpretations of the SRI Taxonomy and CCPT Cl
assification frameworks.
BPAM chief executive officer and executive director Meor Amri Meor Ayob said the platform offers a structured approach to classifying the principles that drive climate change research and reporting to tackle the issue of fragmented environmental, social and governance data in Malaysia.
‘Our goal is to equip the market with reliable data, enabling businesses to seamlessly integrate sustainability into their strategies,’ he said.
According to BPAM, the Eko platform implements a clear and consistent methodology in analysing various economic activities at the transactional and issuer levels.
SC’s SRI Taxonomy and BNM’s CCPT Classification frameworks were established as guiding principles for self-compliance within the Malaysian capital markets, aimed at promoting sustainable finance and addressing climate risks in the country.
