Better wi-fi connectivity available across NAIA terminals: NNIC

MANILA: A faster and more reliable free wi-fi connectivity is now available across the four terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the airport’s operator said Tuesday.

About 1,000 users could connect to the “NewNAIA” wi-fi per hour.

“Average internet speeds at NAIA terminals have significantly increased with passengers now enjoying speeds of 50-60 Mbps, with peak speeds reaching 115 Mbps,” the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) said.

From the previous two-hour limit, the free wi-fi can now be accessed for three hours.

Passengers would no longer have to input their personal information.

The NNIC said it has partnered with PLDT-Smart and Converge for the improved connectivity.

‘For air travelers, fast and reliable internet connectivity is a must,’ the NNIC said, adding that the consortium is “committed to providing a high level of service that meets the expectations of today’s travelers”.

The NNIC is composed of San Miguel Holdings Corp., RMM Asian Logistics, Inc., RLW Aviation Development,
Inc., and Incheon International Airport Corp.

The group bagged the PHP170.6 billion public-private partnership project to operate and rehabilitate the NAIA by offering a revenue share of 82.16 percent to the government.
