Bank Islam Expands E-Payment Access In Ranau, Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR, Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd has strengthened efforts to cultivate electronic payment (e-payment) among rural communities, especially micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, in Ranau, Sabah.

The programme encourages merchants to use e-payment methods through DuitNow QR and the BIMB Biz by Bank Islam (BIMB Biz) mobile banking application for their daily business affairs.

Bank Islam’s director of deposits and cards Mohd Noor Jab said the bank actively promotes technology-based solutions such as e-payment methods to encourage cashless transactions so that customers and users do not miss out on the fast-growing digital trend. “We are committed to expanding payment and electronic banking facilities, in addition to increasing access to inclusive and user-friendly services,” he said in a statement today.

Through the efforts carried out, the traders involved will get guidance and support using the BIMB Biz application which is equipped with specially designed features to facilitate the financial managemen
t of the companies they own.

The application also helps manage the trader’s cash management risk by ensuring a more organised record of daily sales and purchases. At the same time, the business community can also accept cashless payments (DuitNow QR) from customers.
