Bank Islam Celebrates Seven Al-Awfar Draw Winners

KUANTAN, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (Bank Islam) celebrated seven winners, including two who became millionaires, each taking home RM1 million from the Al-Awfar draw held in March and June.

Apart from the millionaires, five other winners received substantial prizes, including a BMW 320i M Sport, a Honda HR-V, a Honda City, a Perodua Myvi 1.5 and RM100,000 in cash.

Bank Islam group chief business officer for retail banking Mizan Masram said that these prizes were part of a reward pool exceeding RM18 million, provided by the bank to appreciate customers who opened an Al-Awfar account.

Mizan said there are 15 categories offering various attractive prizes, including cash, travel tickets, cars and gold bars.

“After 15 years in the market, Al-Awfar continues to receive excellent response, with fund size exceeding RM5.1 billion through 1.3 million customer accounts,” he said.

“It would not have been achievable without our customers’ trust in Bank Islam, and we express our gratitude by holding the Al-Awfar Draw
as a value-added incentive to appreciate their support,” he said after the Al-Awfar June 2024 prize presentation ceremony held at the Zenith Hotel here today.

Also present were Bank Islam group chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Muazzam Mohamed and its deposits and cards director Mohd Noor Jab.

The 43rd millionaire winner, Ariffin Mahaiyuddin, 54, admitted that he had never imagined owning RM1 million before winning the Al-Awfar draw.

“I had only opened an Al-Awfar account with RM50,000 since 2019, so it was hard for me to believe when Bank Islam contacted me to inform that I had become a millionaire winner this time.

“I will use a large portion of this prize money to reinvest in a Bank Islam investment account, and certainly, from now on, I will encourage all my family members and friends to open an Al-Awfar account,” he said.
