Antique provincial gov’t releases over P2.9-M aid to ‘Egay’ victims

BUENAVISTA: A total of 292 families in Antique availed a total of PHP2.92 million in cash aid for the reconstruction of their houses under the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) of the National Housing Authority (NHA).

The second batch of 92 families received a total of PHP920,000 or PHP10,000 each during the distribution ceremony at the Binirayan gymnasium in San Jose de Buenavista on Feb. 17, 2024, Provincial Housing Affairs and Resettlement Office (PHARO) head Eby Archangel Butiong said in an interview on Monday.

‘The 92 families belonging to the second batch are from the towns of Barbaza, San Remigio, Culasi and Hamtic,’ he said.

The first batch, with 200 families, received PHP2 million in December last year.

He said the family beneficiaries were grateful for the assistance because they found it hard to raise the needed amount for the reconstruction of their homes and recovery.

‘As Gov. Rhodora Cadiao has said during the distribution of the assistance, the government is there to help the fam
ilies needing help,’ Butiong said.

Vice Governor Edgar Denosta, NHA officials and the representative of Sen. Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go, who helped follow up on the assistance, joined the distribution. (PNA)
