AKSB Orders Immediate Deployment Of Water Tankers To Recycling Site For Fire-Fighting Operation


KOTA BHARU, Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) carried out an immediate deployment of water tankers to the recycling collection site in the Pengkalan Chepa Industrial Area last Oct 27for use in the fire-fighting operation.

In a statement issued today, AKSB said it received a phone call from the Kota Bharu Fire and Rescue Officer to inform about the fire at the recycling collection site at about 6 pm.

“The Fire and Rescue Department requested help to increase the water pressure around the fire area, as well as water tankers, to put out the fire, which was expected to take at least 12 hours.

‘The reason being that the 0.5-hectare site that was on fire is filled with compressed recycled materials that have been stacked up to at least three metres high,’ it said.

It said Jajahan Kota Bharu Timur also carried out an emergency rationing by slowing down the water flow to the District Metered Areas (DMA) in Sabak and Kemumin.
