Adam Adli Presents Certs To Over 200 Miri IKBN Graduates

MIRI, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abdul Halim officiated the 16th Convocation of the Miri National Youth Skills Training Institute (IKBN) and presented 226 graduates with their certificates and advanced certificates here today.

In his speech, Adam Adli said the training at the Youth and Sports Skills Training Institution (ILKBS) combined 80 per cent skills training and 20 per cent human development programmes.

“This approach is seen capable of strengthening student discipline, besides preparing them for more complex challenges in the future,’ he said in a statement issued by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) today.

The statement added that Budget 2025, which was recently tabled, proved the government’s commitment towards Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), with an allocation of RM7.5 billion compared to RM6.8 billion previously.

This move aims to ensure youth, especially those from vulnerable groups, get access to quality education and strengthen collaboration with
industries, it said.

“Heading towards 2030 and aligning with the government’s goal to increase a highly-skilled workforce to 35 per cent in the country’s economic sector, the ministry is committed to improving and offering quality courses in line with the latest technological changes to ensure our youth stay more competitive and relevant and meet the needs of the industry,’ he said.
