ABU DHABI: The Advanced Technology Research Council’s (ATRC) commercialization arm, VentureOne, has launched SteerAI, which offers an advanced mobility system powered by AI that can transform standard industrial vehicles into autonomous powerhouses. Catering to both the logistics and defense sectors to begin, SteerAI uses a hardware kit, software stack, and fleet management system to allow autonomous ground vehicles to tackle complex missions with high precision and efficiency, saving time and resources while protecting human workforces. SteerAI’s technology was developed by experts from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), the ATRC’s applied research arm.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the introduction of SteerAI marks a significant milestone in the field of autonomous technology, as it provides a comprehensive system for upgrading existing industrial vehicles. The initiative is expected to enhance operational efficiency across various sectors by enabling vehicles to perform tasks autonomously, the
reby reducing the need for human intervention in potentially hazardous environments. The system’s ability to handle complex missions is particularly beneficial for the logistics and defense industries, where precision and safety are paramount.
SteerAI’s development is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the ATRC and TII, aiming to position Abu Dhabi as a leader in advanced technology innovation. The technology’s deployment is poised to revolutionize the way industrial tasks are approached, offering a new level of automation and intelligence to ground vehicle operations. By leveraging AI-driven solutions, SteerAI not only optimizes resource utilization but also enhances workforce safety by minimizing direct human involvement in challenging scenarios.
