Ab Rauf Wants Govt Agencies To Refine Outcome Of Survey On Aspirations Of Melaka Youth


MELAKA, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh has called on relevant departments, agencies, and stakeholders to refine the findings of a survey on the Aspirations of Melaka Youth for the formulation of new policies or initiatives that align with the aspirations of youth in the state.

He said from the survey conducted recently, it was found that the average youth wanted emphasis on sports activities, education and the advancement of information and communication technology (ICT).

“The state government is committed to prioritising youth development by providing various initiatives and programs aimed at producing a resilient generation that can contribute to the nation’s progress.

‘We are also prepared to listen carefully and empathise with the views, concerns, opinions, and suggestions of the youth, to better understand their aspirations,” he said when opening the state-level 2024 National Youth Consultative Council Conference here today.

Also present was Majlis Gabungan Belia Melaka (MGBM) presid
ent Datuk Khaidhirah Abu Zahar.

Citing statistics by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), Ab Rauf said 398,000 of the 1.05 million population are youths.

Therefore, he emphasised the importance of establishing clear directions and goals that encompass various aspects such as the economy, politics, social issues, and technology to cater to the needs and aspirations of the youth.
