91st Armed Forces Day: King Performs Friday Prayers At Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today performed Friday prayers and listened to a special sermon at the Khalid Bin Al-Walid Mosque, here, in conjunction with the 91st anniversary of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).

His Majesty was welcomed upon arrival at 1 pm, by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, together with the Chief of Defence Force Gen Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman.

The sermon, titled ‘Angkatan Masa Hadapan: Benteng Pertahanan Negara’, was delivered by the director-general of the Armed Forces Religious Corps (Kagat), Maj Gen Datuk Mohd Rashidi Bujai.

Among other things, the sermon called on military personnel to be determined to implement the Armed Forces’ transformation agenda, so that the formation of the Future Force by 2030, through the Armed Forces Reform 2030 (Angkatan 30) initiative, can be realised.

In addition, the sermon called for the independence and sovereignty of the country to be defended together by the people of this country, in line with the idea of the
Future Force in strengthening cooperation between ATM and the public.

His Majesty then performed Friday prayers with the congregation and ATM personnel, led by Lt Col Mohd Nizam Termizi Al-Hafiz, and mingled with the congregation before leaving.

Earlier, Yasin and Tahlil recital was also held, led by deputy director-general of Kagat (Policy and Management), Brig Gen Mohamad Hamzah Adam.

Also present were deputy army chief Lt Gen Datuk Tengku Muhammad Fauzi Tengku Ibrahim; acting Royal Malaysian Navy chief Vice Admiral Datuk Zulhelmy Ithnain and Royal Malaysian Air Force deputy chief Datuk Seri Muhamad Norazlan Aris.
