4 drug suspects fall, P3.4-M shabu seized in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY: Anti-narcotics agents arrested here four suspected drug peddlers and seized from them 500 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of PHP3.4 million on Thursday afternoon.

Gil Cesario Castro, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM), said the suspects, two of whom are minors, yielded 10 sachets of shabu and other pieces of evidence.

Castro said two of the suspects, whose identities are withheld pending further investigation, agreed to sell shabu to an undercover agent near the city’s Mega Market area.

As soon as the transaction was consummated, PDEA agents, backed by police officers, swooped down on the area and arrested the suspects.

Also on Thursday, PDEA agents arrested three men in a drug buy-bust operation in Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, and dismantled a drug den.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against all the susp
ects currently detained at the PDEA-BARMM detention facility here.
