296 rookie cops to boost Caraga security for busy Christmas season


MANILA: At least 296 rookie cops will be deployed across the Caraga Region to boost the security measures being implemented for the Christmas season.

‘This new breed of police officers, who recently completed their required training, will help ensure the safety of the residents in the region this Christmas,’ Maj. Jennifer Omiter, Police Regional Office in the Caraga Region (PRO-13) information office chief, said Tuesday.

Omiter said the new officers would enhance police presence in convergence areas, such as places of worship and events.

Of the total number of new police officers, 20 will be deployed to the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office, 31 to Butuan City, 55 to Surigao del Sur, 60 to Agusan del Sur, and 130 to Surigao del Norte.

PRO-13 director, Brig. Gen. Kirby John Kraft, reminded the new hires to adhere to the regional police office’s SAFE program in the performance of their daily duties and responsibilities.

‘Under the SAFE program, we must be Seen, Approachable, Felt, and Efficient in
rendering our services to the people,’ he said in a statement.
