11 DavOr municipalities guaranteed P6-M livelihood aid from DOLE

DAVAO CITY: At least PHP6 million worth of livelihood aid will soon be extended to 40 women’s groups in 11 municipalities in Davao Oriental province.

Each recipient group will get PHP150,000 from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), according to Governor Niño Sotero Uy Jr. on Monday.

‘We continue to identify other women’s associations in the province so that we can provide support to them in terms of livelihood,’ he said in a statement.

The DOLE downloaded the fund to the province and will be facilitated by the province’s Public Employment Service Office and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office for distribution.

The governor said the assistance would help the women, their families, and the rest of the province.

‘This will eventually create jobs and opportunities and help our local economy. This is not impossible if we help each other,’ he said.
