1,000 Participants Set To Ride In IGMR2024


KUALA TERENGGANU, A total of 1,000 participants are anticipated for the International Golden Monsoon Ride 2024 (IGMR2024), scheduled to take place on Dec 14.

State Youth Development, Sports and Non-Governmental Organisation Committee chairman Hishamuddin Abdul Karim, said this sixth edition of the event is part of the Terengganu Inc Challenge Series, aimed at elevating the state’s international-standard cycling industry.

The competition will showcase 12 categories at the Terengganu Science and Creativity Centre (PSKT), with a substantial prize pool of RM37,000.

“Categories include the 30-kilometre (km) MTB Race and Jamboree, Women Super Mama, E-Bike, Heavy Weight, Men Open, Men Junior and Women Open.

‘In addition, a Fun Ride covering 39 km will be organised for cycling enthusiasts looking to enjoy the experience without the pressure of competition,’ he added after the pre-launch ceremony of IGMR2024 at PSKT here today.

Hishamuddin further revealed that participants can look forward to an array of excitin
g lucky draw prizes, including a Perodua Myvi car, bicycles, and electronic items such as the iPhone 15 and iPad.

“Apart from promoting cycling, IGMR2024 seeks to position Terengganu as a premier tourist destination, showcasing its vibrant culture and scenic landscapes,” he said.
